Why this grade
Regraded from B: identification is an inference.
›Research notes
Identification of 'Etegahat' (Egyptian press), 'Multiple Directions' (C4ADS) and etegahat.com (Giad site) as one company is an inference from the shared Arabic name; treat as probable, not proven.
Multi-Directions Company (DIS subsidiary) – Kadro slaughterhouse
Ayin reports the DIS-owned company rushed to repair and run the Kadro slaughterhouse north of Khartoum to export meat to Egypt, earning millions of dollars.
El-Itigahat El-Muta'adida (Multi Directions Company) - Defense Industries System livestock and meat exporter
2015 to 2024
Subsidiary of the SAF's Defense Industries System (DIS). STPT (Nov 2024): 'it seems that the war has not significantly affected the exports of the DIS, which specializes in livestock and meat through its company, El-Itigahat El-Muta'adida, to its traditional markets in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Just a little over a year after the war broke out ... [it] continued to sell to Egyptian markets.' A 2017 contract with Egypt's Ministry of Supply was 'worth nearly $1 billion over three years'; in 2021 it took 40% of the Egyptian-Sudanese joint company. In March 2024 a first 5,000 head of a 20,000-head contract reached Egypt via Djibouti; the Egyptian distributor's director said supply 'has not stopped since the contract with the Sudanese El-Itigahat company began in 2015' (50-75 tons of frozen Sudanese meat sold daily).
