Explosives imports: timing in exporter-side customs data

2023 - January 2026

Exporter-declared data put the wartime explosives flow into Sudan almost entirely in one window. India: nothing in January-November 2024, then 6,672 tonnes of prepared explosives and 411 tonnes of detonators and related items between December 2024 and January 2026, then nothing through July 2026. Egypt: pre-war shipments in January and March 2023 and a single wartime entry of HS 3603 goods worth USD 485,821 in June 2024. OFAC says TMAC imported from 'Egyptian and Indian companies' and that 'these explosives are subsequently used in bombs deployed by the SAF'; the customs data are consistent with the Indian flow OFAC describes but do not name consignees.
